According to reports
reaching us, all four Undergraduate Engineering Programmes of the Federal
University of Agriculture, Abeokuta has been granted full accreditation by the
Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN).
The cheering news of the University’s feat was contained in
a letter dated October 2, 2012, signed by the Registrar of COREN, Engr. Felix
Atume, FNSE, MNI and addressed to the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olusola
Bandele Oyewole.
According to COREN, the four Undergraduate Programmes
granted full accreditation are Agricultural Engineering, Civil Engineering,
Electrical/Electronics Engineering and Mechanical Engineering.
The Council disclosed that the approval for full
accreditation was granted as a result of the accreditation team’s visitation to
the Undergraduate Engineering Programmes of the University between July 29 and
August 2, 2012.
COREN stated that the full accreditation is with effect from
August 2, 2012 and it is valid for a period of five years.
It however informed that random visit will be paid on the
University, within the period of validity, to check on the state of facilities.
