APPLICATION FOR LAGOS STATE INDIGENE'S SCHOLARSHIPS BEGINS FOR 2012/2013!! APPLY NOW!

Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos state has approved the release of N77, 536,621.20 as Local scholarship award to 337 qualified state indigenes in various tertiary institutions throughout the country for 2011/2012 session.

According to the Secretary, Lagos State Scholarship Board, 254 Ipaja Road, Beside NYSC Orientation Camp, Agege. Mrs. Yetunde Jegede, who disclosed this on Thursday, the concerned awardees are the 223 undergraduate students with 3.5 Grade Point and above and 74 Post Graduate students who took part in the last conducted Local Scholarship interview in January 2012.

“The list also includes 40 undergraduate students who automatically qualified for Merit Award having got 4.0 Grade Point and above”. Jegede stated.

The documentation exercise in readiness for the presentation of award to this category of awardees commenced on Monday October 22, 2012 at the Board premises, Agege. Afterwhich, ATM Cards would be released to awardees that have been cleared.

Concerned students are therefore advised to come for the exercise with original and photocopies of the following documents:

 i. School Identity Card

 ii. Current Progress Report

 iii. Two passport photographs

 iii. Letter of Admission.

 iv. N2, 000.00 LSSB Brochure receipt obtained from the Office of the Special Adviser on Education, Alausa

 v. Every other document that were not submitted before now

 The award value ranges between N200, 000.00, N300, 000.00 and N400, 000.00 for Undergraduate, Master’s and Doctorate students respectively.

Meanwhile, online sale of Local Scholarship Award for 2012/2013 Session will also started on Monday 22nd October, 2012. Interested applicants are expected to pay and obtain receipt of N2, 000.00 at the Office of Special Adviser on Education, Block 5, Secretariat, Alausa. Thereafter, scratch cards can be obtained at Lagos State Scholarship Board, Agege.

Completed application forms will be submitted at the interview centre with the following documents:

 (i) Letter of Admission.

 (ii) Father’s Birth Certificate.

 (iii) Applicant’s Birth Certificate.

 (iv) Identification Letter from Local Govt

 (v) Identification Letter from Oba

 (vi) Student School I. D Card.

 (vii) JAMB Result Slip.

 (viii) SSCE/GCE Result.

 (ix) Receipt of purchase of Application form.

 (x) Current Progress Report with minimum of 3.5 CGPA OR 2nd Class Upper for Post graduate applicants.
