Applications are
invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into a one-year
Pre-Degree Programme of the University of Uyo for the 2012/2013 academic year.
The One Year
Predegree Programme is designed to prepare candidates for admission into 100
level of degree programmes in the courses underlisted in the school portal.
Who is qualified to
apply?
Candidates seeking
admission into the Predegree Programme must possess credit passes in at least
five (5) subjects to include: English Language,
Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Geography, Economics and Government
at not more than two sittings in the GCE, SSCE (WAEC/NECO) or equivalent
qualification.
In addition,
candidates will be expected to meet specific departmental requirements as
listed in the current Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) brochure.
Method of Application
Interested candidates
will be required to purchase the scratch card for N500.00 (five hundred naira)
and in addition pay the sum of N10,000.00 (ten thousand naira) only as
administrative charge at any branch of the following banks nationwide: Keystone Bank, Skye
Bank, Zenith Bank, UBA Plc, First City Monument Bank Plc, (FCMB), University of
Uyo Micro Finance Bank.
Scratch cards can
also be purchased at the University of Uyo Liaison Office at Abuja – No. 15B Blantyre
Street; Off Adetokunbo Ademola Crescent, Wuse II, Abuja, and Liaison Office,
Lagos, No. 2 Modupe St; Off Kofoworole Crescent; Off Awolowo Way, Ikeja, Lagos.
With the scratch
card, candidates should access and complete the University of Uyo 2012/2013
Pre-Degree Screening Form online at www.uniuyopume.org and scan their recent
passport size photograph (with a red background) on the form.
Candidates should
also note that the same scratch card will be used to access their performance
in the Pre-Degree Screening Exercise.
Closing date for
application for admission into the programme is Tuesday, September 25, 2012.
Candidates are
required to come for the screening exercise with the following;
(ii) 2012 UTME Result
Slip.
(iii) Two (2) recent
passport size colour photographs (with a red background) with the name and
signature of the candidate written on the reverse side.
(iv) HB pencil,
eraser and sharpener.
No GSM handsets,
calculators or any other extraneous materials should be brought into the
screening hall.
VENUE: Candidates for
the screening exercise are to report at the CBN Auditorium, University of Uyo
(Town Campus) on Friday, 28th September, 2012 at 8.00am for the screening
exercise.
